Job Description

The Director of Development is a member of the Birth Choice administrative team responsible for securing funds according to the annual budget set by the Board of Directors. This includes but is not limited to:
(1) developing overall fundraising strategy each year in coordination with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors Development Sub-Committee
(2) cultivating relationships with current and prospective benefactors
(3) securing one-on-one visits with current and prospective benefactors
(4) soliciting major gifts for various programs and initiatives
(5) planning fundraising and community building events as needed
(6) researching grant opportunities, writing and submitting grant applications, and keeping track of grant cycles
(7) developing and implementing communications calendar for electronic and print materials
(8) managing Network for Good, Birth Choice’s donor database software
(9) attending local events as a representative of Birth Choice as necessary.

Reports to: The Executive Director

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Two years of work experience in non-profit fundraising or related field preferred
- Passionately pro-life
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage time well, as many days will consist of off-site visits with benefactors.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all Birth Choice staff
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Public speaking skills
- Carry out responsibilities with little to no supervision.
- Other skills: problem solving, computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, donor database, basic graphic design), social media skills
