Founded in 1986, The Highlands School (THS) is a private independent Catholic school in Irving, TX, accredited by TCCBED and AdvancEd offering students a Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade Catholic education in the Diocese of Dallas. Position Overview
• The Development Manager has the responsibility of achieving the school’s mission by establishing and cultivating relationships and maintaining a high degree of personal initiative that results in an increase in awareness and fundraising for the school.
• The Development Manager carries out his/her responsibilities with the awareness that he/she is above all an apostle of Christ, especially with his/her testimony of faith, virtuous personal life, and professional dedication to the mission entrusted to him/her within the school.
• The Development Manager works closely with The Executive Director, Board of Trustees, and Administrative Team to establish short and long-term goals for The Highlands School.
• The Development Manager is responsible for planning fundraising activities to meet organizational goals and ultimately increase the annual fundraising revenue. Fundraising activities may include, but are not limited to, leading Capital Campaigns, executing the Annual Fund appeal, managing the spring fundraising events, researching and applying for public and private grants, cultivating major gifts, and maintaining the donor management system.

Job Requirements

The Development Manger should meet the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional fundraising experience
• Proven experience designing and managing development programs
• Demonstrated experience in building a portfolio of major donors and networkers through existing donors and contacts in the community
• Competent in using MS Office Suite and Donor management software
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in the school community
• Serve as a professional ambassador and representative of the school
• Detail-oriented
• Experience raising funds for a capital campaign
• Planned giving knowledge preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Excellent presentation skills, including comfort and presenting at gatherings casting vision, and inviting support.
• Exceptional leadership and teamwork capabilities
• Excellent social qualities, a sound character, and a firm and kind manner
• Excellent and proven people management skills
• Excellent communication skills, outgoing personality.
• Ability and comfort level in asking for money and making cold calls on a regular basis
• Strong organizational abilities, sound judgment, and good common sense
• Desired, practicing Catholic and formator with an excellent moral reputation, apostolic zeal for working for the Church, whose vocation is to lead, serve, and form the faculty and staff of the school.
